Huggies® brand donates over half a million nappies to New Zealand families in need

Kimberly-Clark’s Huggies® Brand, in conjunction with long-term partner Plunket, is proud to celebrate a major milestone for its South Auckland Nappy initiative – providing over half a million nappies to vulnerable New Zealand families in need.

As part of an ongoing association, Plunket’s South Auckland Nappy Bank facility was established in 2017 as an avenue to distribute free essential nappy and baby wipes products to families facing socio-economic hardships within the Auckland community.

In its first year of operation, the nappy bank has made a significant impact in the local community, with access to high-quality Huggies nappy products providing much needed relief to those families burdened by financial pressures.

In addition, Huggies recently donated a further 170,000 nappies to Plunket for distribution to other parts of the country, with a single shipment of over 20,000 nappies and wipes landing in Christchurch for pockets of the community that needed support.  

Due to its success, plans are underway to extend the Nappy Bank model to other areas around New Zealand, where there is a high concentration of young children and communities who require access to essential products and resources.
