Paul's worked his way up from a Sales Graduate to Sales Development Manager

I joined Kimberly-Clark as a ProGrad Graduate in 2009 and was excited to be part of a global company working with market leading brands.

Paul , Sales DevelopmentAs a graduate Territory Manager I was responsible for executing various sales strategies within my given area while understanding KCA's consumer business, its customers and its competitive environment. I also completed the ProGrad Sales training that included an introduction to Professional Sales and Marketing, Solution Selling, Negotiation Skills and Key Account Management. From the start I was motivated to work hard, get involved in as much as possible and learn the necessary skills to progress to the next level.

Eight months later I transitioned into a Business Development Manager and continued to develop my account management skills that allowed me to take up another great opportunity 18 months later at Kimberly-Clark Australia's head office in the role of Assistant Category Manager working across all Kimberly-Clark's consumer brands. As the Go-To market specialist,  I was responsible for managing all our Point of Sale materials while working closely with the sales and marketing teams supporting the launch of new or changing products.

The Assistant Category Manager role also gave me the opportunity to contribute to Kimberly-Clark's company-wide initiatives. Some of these initiatives involve specific project work and one of the projects I worked on was to gain better efficiency out of our national Point of Sale function by finding ways to save on storage, distribution and production costs.

After nine months I was seconded to my current role as Sales Development Manager for Child Care and Wipes where I am the central liaison between our customer management, marketing and supply chain teams. It's a busy, but exciting role working on market leading brands such as Huggies Wipes, DryNites, Pull-Ups and Little Swimmers.

Starting as a Sales Graduate was a great career move for me because Kimberly-Clark' has given me plenty of opportunities to learn and develop my skillset.
