Kimberly-Clark welcomes revised government Illegal Logging Prohibition Bill

Kimberly-Clark Australia welcomes the revised Illegal Logging Prohibition Bill, tabled by the Federal Government to the House of Representatives today.

"Government has clearly listened to the concerns of stakeholders concerned about effective control of unsustainably harvested timber product imports into Australia, including those of industry" said Ross Hearne, General Manager - Corporate Services.

"The lower cost of these unsustainably harvested timber product imports results from a lack of enforced governance standards in exporting countries. The Australian community rightly expects Australian companies to meet responsible standards of operation and governance and this Bill will enforce a level playing field on less responsible Companies" said Hearne.
