Millicent Mill gives back

Millicent Volunteering

The Human Resources team from Kimberly-Clark's Millicent Mill, where we make our Kleenex® and Scott® branded products, recently spent the day volunteering at the Conservation Park in the Valley Lake, Mount Gambier. As a popular destination point, the Valley Lake Conservation Park regularly attracts families and tourists alike with its excellent playground and recreational area, as well as being home to many indigenous flora and fauna species – some of which are rare or endangered.

Over the course of the day, the team undertook the arduous task of removing overgrown bushes and woody shrubs that had become wedged into the muddy pond bank, along with restoring the Parks’ precious water supply. Despite the wet and muddy conditions, the team stayed motivated and determined to complete the task with a high standard.

Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Project Co-ordinator Orazio Cultreri, from The Mount Gambier City Council, expressed his appreciation for the teams hard work saying, 'Thanks to everyone for doing a job well done, and you have now set the standard for the rest of the volunteers, 10 out of 10 effort!'.

The Volunteer Day comes after Millicent Mill was recently awarded the Environment Minister’s Award for a Cleaner Environment by the Banksia Foundation. Both efforts by the Millicent team reflect their contribution towards achieving a cleaner, healthier, environment and a more resilient sustainable Australia.
